Precious metals suffer setback

Precious metals reacted at the higher level on the local bullion market on Monday on some offerings amid weak overseas market.

Sandard gold prices were down Rs 35 to end at Rs 9,935 per 10 gm from the previous close of Rs 9,970. Pure gold (99.99) was down Rs 30 at Rs 9,990 from the previous close of Rs 10,020.

Silver (.999 fineness) price was down Rs 240 at Rs 20,735 from the previous close of Rs 20,975 a kg.

Kolkata: Silver ready: Rs 20,300; Gold ready: Rs 10,120.
