The Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) has announced the G.S. Parkhe Industrial Awards for the year 2006.

The chamber received about 27 nominations.

Talking to presspersons, Mr Ravi Pandit, President, MCCIA, said the selection committee comprising about 10 panelists have shortlisted four products for this year's awards. These include ultrasonic flowmeter, fleetlog vehicle, encast 100 systems and services offered for ecological management.

The ultrasonic flow meter, developed by Chetas Control Systems Pvt Ltd, is used for the measurement of flow and velocity of all kinds of liquids in water sector/process industries.

The fleetlog vehicle efficiency monitoring system, designed by Fluidyne Control Systems Pvt Ltd, for commercial vehicles would reduce fuel consumption and deters fuel pilferage due to accurage logging. It eliminates fuel wastage, engine and tyre wear, he said.

The Hari Malini Joshi Award has been awarded to Rand Poly Products Pvt Ltd for its two component electronic polyurethane system formulated for potting and encapsulating applications in the electronic/electrical industry. The Ramabai Joshi Awards has been awarded to Oikos for ecological services such as biodiversity conservation, natural resource management, ecological landscaping and eco-tourism planning.

Dr R.J. Rathi Award for Environmental Pollution Control in industries in Maharashtra for the year 2006 has been awarded to Sahyadri Starch and Industries Pvt Ltd.
