BUOYED TRADE: A mango trader at Mechua wholesale fruit market in Kolkata busy talking to a customer. Business in mango is expected to be good this season. According to the traders in Kolkata, mango is imported from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Traders make deals with farmers or traders in various States much before the season begins. So far, arrivals from the South are satisfactory. Currently, wholesale prices range between Rs 16 and Rs 22 a kg for Andhra and Tamil Nadu varieties.
