GAC expands network

GAC Marine Logistics (GML) has expanded its network by opening a new office in Mumbai, to focus on major players of the maritime sector in the subcontinent, according to shipping industry sources. With this, Mumbai joins GML's existing network comprising offices at Dubai, Singapore and Oslo. The sources indicate that the decision to open an office at Mumbai has been prompted by a new development: India has become a major market for GML's integrated door-to-door ship spares delivery services. An increasing number of maritime companies are believed to be relocating their technical and purchasing functions to India. GML's Mumbai office, therefore, will reinforce the GML brand and promote its specialised ship spares supply chain solutions directly to shipping firms operating out of India. It will also highlight the company's global purchasing agreements with major sea and air carriers, the sources add.
