NCDEX alters urad, lemon tur contracts

National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange Ltd (NCDEX) has modified the currently running contracts for urad and lemon tur.

The modification would be applicable to contracts expiring June 2006, July 2006, August 2006 and September 2006 in case of urad and June 2006 and July 2006 in case of lemon tur, exchange officials said.

According to a circular, the urad September 2006 contract and lemon lur July 2006 contract are now compulsory delivery contract.

"The near month limit for urad September 2006 expiry contract will be 2,400 tonnes for member and 600 tonnes for client. For lemon tur July 2006 expiry contract, the near month limit will be 5,000 tonnes for member and 1,000 tonnes for client," an exchange official said.

The exchange also announced that under the quality specification for delivery, lemon tur (Myanmar origin) with damage exceeding 14 per cent would be rejected.

More delivery centres

As per the revised specifications of the current running contracts in urad, the exchange has increased the number of additional delivery centres to five. Delivery would also be acceptable at Tenali (Andhra Pradesh), Jalgaon and Akola (up to a radius of 50 km from municipal limits), at par.

Delivery would be acceptable at Kolkata and Chennai (up to a radius of 50 km from municipal limits) at a discount of Rs 100.

In the case of lemon tur contracts, the exchange has increased the number of additional delivery centres to 4.

Delivery would be acceptable at Akola, Latur and Gulbarga (up to a radius of 50 km from municipal limits) at par.

At Kolkata, delivery would be acceptable (up to a radius of 50 km from municipal limits) at a discount of Rs 100.
