Kolkata , May 22 The Broekman Group of the Netherlands, which has a strong presence in automotive, liner shipping and ship agencies, has acquired Mumbai-based Courcan Cargo (India) as part of its plan to expand its interest in logistics and freight forwarding. Established in 1986, Courcan Cargo is an IATA licensed firm providing domestic and international logistics services including air and ocean freight. In addition to Mumbai, it has 10 offices in New Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Pune, Goa, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Kochi, and Baroda. The Broekman Group would like to develop logistics and forwarding activities in the same way it has developed its automotive and shipping businesses and sees India as a potential market in this regard. The acquisition of the Mumbai-based firm will strengthen its participation in China-India-Europe trade lanes.
