Sundram Fasteners plans new units

Chennai, May 29

Sundram Fasteners intends to put up manufacturing facilities in Uttaranchal and in Mahindra Industrial Park, near Chennai. The company told the stock exchanges today that the details of the projects are "being worked out". The Uttaranchal plant is to be located at the Integrated Industrial Estate, Pantnagar, close to Tata Motor's ACE production facilities. Tata Motors has been asking its vendors to set up shops close to its facilities. Sundram Fasteners has announced that it would produce high tensile fasteners, powder metal parts, water and oil pumps from there.
