Tuticorin port unloads record limestone

Madurai , June 1

Tuticorin port has created a new record by unloading 12,620 tonnes of limestone in a single day from the vessel MV Force Ranger at VOC Berth No. III on May 29.

The previous record was 8,093 tonnes from the vessel MV Jag Vikram, on October 26, 2003. Vilsons Shipping Pvt. Ltd, Tuticorin, is the steamer agent and South India Corporation Ltd, Tuticorin, is the stevedore for the vessel, a release from Tuticorin Port Trust, said.
