Precious metals decline further

Mumbai , June 9

Precious metals fell further on the local bullion market on Friday in the absence of continued buying interest coupled with weak overseas market.

Standard gold prices were down Rs 110 at Rs 9,135 per 10 gm from Rs 9,245 per 10 gm. Pure gold (99.99 fineness) was down Rs 115 to close at Rs 9,180 per 10 gm from Rs 9,295.

Silver (.999 fineness) price was down Rs 195 to close at Rs 17,310 from Rs 17,505 a kg.

Chennai: Bar silver: Rs 17,705; retail silver (per gm): Rs 18.95; Standard gold: Rs 9,220; retail ornament gold (22 carat per gm): Rs 854.

Kolkata: Silver ready: Rs 16,400; Gold ready: Rs 9,310.
