HSBC Data Pro to expand

Hyderabad, June 13

HSBC Data Processing, part of the HSBC Banking group, which currently employs about 10,000 employees across five delivery centres in the country and six in the region, is poised to add about 2,500 more. According to a statement from the Chief Minister's Office, the company, which started its software development centre in Hyderabad, plans to recruit about 1,500 software professionals by the year 2008. The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on Tuesday said that a team of officials from HSBC had called on him and hinted at expanding their operations and potentially adding about 2,500 people. The company has centres in Hyderabad and Vizag in the State. The Chief Operating Officer for Global Sourcing, South Asia, HSBC, Mr Malcolm Wagget, is set to retire on July 1, 2006, after serving here for the past four years. Mr Richard Farrand is set to take over as the COO, South Asia, Global sourcing.
