Opto Circuits Q4 net up 64 pc

Healthcare equipment maker Opto Circuits has posted a 64 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 11.81 crore during the fourth quarter of 2005-06.

A press statement from the company said sales during the same period grew 23.48 per cent to Rs 35.45 crore. "Sales growth was driven by better volumes and higher demand for products across categories," the statement said.

1:1 bonus

The company has declared a dividend of Rs 4 per share, subject to approval of the shareholders. The board has also recommended a 1:1 bonus.

For the entire year, the company's net profit rose 82.77 per cent to Rs 35.02 crore while sales grew 46.61 per cent to Rs 116.03 crore. Exports recorded a 48 per cent increase to Rs 115.17 crore compared with the previous year. Opto Circuits Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Vinod Ramnani, said for the company, FY06 has been a year of significant milestones. "We accessed new geographies and launched new products. We diversified into the global invasive medical business by acquiring EuroCor. We are looking to further strengthen our international presence with inorganic initiatives," he said.
