Precious metals recover

Mumbai , June 15

Precious metals recovered partly on the local bullion market on Thursday on some fresh buying amid firmness in global markets.

Standard gold prices were up Rs 90 at Rs 8,560 per 10 gm from Rs 8,470 per 10 gm. Pure gold (99.99 fineness) was up Rs 90 to close at Rs 8,605 per 10 gm from Rs 8,515.

Silver (.999 fineness) price was up Rs 345 to close at Rs 15,660 from Rs 16,315 a kg.

Chennai: Bar silver: Rs 15,790; retail silver (per gm): Rs 16.90; Standard gold: Rs 8,655; retail ornament gold (22 carat per gm): Rs 801.

Kolkata: Silver ready: Rs 14,950; Gold ready: Rs 8,720.
