Post-recruitment: Students of Anna University in Chennai sharing cakes as they get jobs in Cognizant Technologies through campus interviews on Tuesday. The company picked up 572 students with an offer of Rs 2.5 lakh per annum. - Shaju John
Chennai , June 20 Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS) has selected 572 students from Anna University as part of its campus recruitment. It is learnt that the starting salary is about Rs 2.11 lakh a year during the six-month training period. On confirmation, the salary would be Rs 2.51 lakh. The company, which has a large offshore presence in India, visited Anna University for campus recruitment on June 19-20. Some 1,670 students took a written aptitude test and 1,018 were short-listed for interview. "It was a year of record hiring at Anna University, which has been an integral part of Cognizant's success ever since our inception," said Mr R. Chandrasekaran, Managing Director, in a release. Cognizant has more than 28,000 employees globally and plans to add another 7,000 by December 2006, it added.
