New Delhi, June 21

Mr Vilas Muttemwar, Minister of Non-Conventional Energy Sources, has invited German Ministers as well as industry associations (wind, solar) to consider investing in a dedicated special economic zone, that is being proposed to be set up exclusively for manufacturing renewable energy equipments and devices in India. The Minister invited German Ministers to visit India to take forward the bilateral cooperation in renewables.

The Minister met Mr Sigmar Gabriel, German Minister of Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, and Ms Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul, Federal Minister of Economic Cooperation at Berlin . Mr Gabriel, appreciated the idea and mentioned that a business delegation from Germany would visit India to further explore the possibilities of investments in the SEZ for renewables, according to a Government press release here.
