CII led CEO mission to UK

Our Bureau

New Delhi, June 23

The Confederation of Indian Industry is leading a CEOs mission to the UK from June 26-28. The highlight of the mission is the Indo-UK Business Leaders' Forum where Mr Kamal Nath, Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Mr Kapil Sibal, Minister for Science and Technology, will represent the Government. The mission is a part of a continuing dialogue under the Indo-British Partnership, which was initiated in 1993. The delegation will explore new areas of cooperation in the infrastructure and technology sectors to strengthen the existing trade and investment relations as well as promote joint Indo-UK efforts in the EU market.

The UK is the third largest foreign investor in India and is currently India's largest trading partner in Europe. It is the second largest importer of Indian goods, according to the chamber. The UK provides an important bridge into the European market, attracting over 60 per cent of India's investment in Europe.
