Gold moves higher; silver declines

Mumbai , June 27

Gold moved up further on the local bullion market on Tuesday, while silver fell marginally on some local offerings.

Standard gold prices were up Rs 65 at Rs 8,855 per 10 gm from Rs 8,790 per 10 gm. Pure gold (99.99 fineness) was up Rs 70 to close at Rs 8,905 per 10 gm from Rs 8,835. Silver (.999 fineness) price was down Rs 30 to close at Rs 16,135 fromRs 16,165 a kg.

Chennai: Bar silver: Rs 16,330; retail silver (per gm): Rs 17.50; Standard gold: Rs 8,975; retail ornament gold (22 carat per gm): Rs 831.
