Kochi , June 28 Airtel customers in the State can now send messages in Malayalam as the mobile service provider on Wednesday introduced Malayalam SMS for its subscribers in Kerala. Mr Ramgopal Vallath, COO (Mobility), Bharti Airtel Ltd - Kerala Circle, said that this innovative offering is available on mobile phones with Java MIDP - 2.0 (mobile Internet device platform) support. Customers can experience this new service by availing the free inaugural offer till July 31; later, this service will be available at Rs 20 per month. Incoming messages are free, he added. "Malayalam SMS is the latest in a series of many technologically advanced services introduced by us. This new facility will enable Airtel customers to express themselves in their mother tongue," he said. Customers need to download an application free of cost on to their handset through `Airtel Live', the multi-access entertainment portal.
