Opinion - Letters
NLC disinvestment

The Prime Minister's decision to accede to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's demand and announcement that "sufficient number of shares" will be allotted to employees of Neyveli Lignite Corporation is, to say the least, most unfair. In all fairness, the employees should apply for shares in the open category.

If this demand is acceded to, will this privilege be extended to retired and ex-employees?

For no fault of theirs should they be denied the favour of applying under the privileged category since the disinvestment has taken place after they left the organisation?

Why deny them the benefit of sharing the profit for which they have worked so hard?
