The Hindu Business Line : Chennai to host Infratech '06

Infratech - 2006, a three-day international expo-cum-seminar on road transportation and related infrastructure issues, will be held August 17 - 19 at IIT Madras. A job fair is also planned to highlight the opportunities in the construction industry. The event will see 100 stalls, including 20-25 put up by Chinese equipment manufacturers. Malaysian companies in the road construction and related sectors will partner the seminar. Companies such as BEML and Mahindra & Mahindra will display their equipment at the show. The seminar will also cover topics such as modern construction equipment, material innovations, design and construction methodology, and road maintenance. The seminar will specifically address issues concerning the Build Operate Transfer (BOT) mode of construction. The event is organised by the All India Manufacturer's Organisation and IIT Madras, and sponsored by ITNL (IL&FS), IJM and L&T.
