Rubber Spot rubber prices decline Aravindan
Kottayam , July 7 Domestic spot rubber prices declined on Friday. There were no quantity buyers on any grade to absorb the selling from certain dealers and growers. Sheet rubber moved down to Rs 104.50 and Rs 104.25 a kg from Rs 105.50 and Rs 105 a kg, respectively at Kottayam and Kochi. Traders seemed to be bit nervous to observe the inactive tyre sector, sources said.
Futures weak
The NMCE rubber futures continued to rule weak though the international indices showed a better trend. The July contract was quoted at Rs 103.40 (Rs 103.67), August Rs 104.29 (Rs 104.32), September Rs 102.15 (102.37) and October contract at Rs 100 (Rs 99.54) per kg for RSS 4. The volumes stood at 1,118 lots till mid session. The August futures for RSS 3 closed at 304.3 yen (Rs 121.25) against 303.7 yen a kg at TOCOM. It improved to Rs 124.03 a kg from Rs 123.24 at Bangkok spot. Spot prices per kg were: RSS-4: Rs 104.50 (Rs 105.50); RSS-5: Rs 100.50 (Rs 101.00); Ungraded: Rs 96.50 (Rs 97.50); ISNR 20: Rs 99.00 (Rs 99.50); and Latex 60 per cent: Rs 78.40 (Rs 78.40).
