VMC to adopt new software

The Municipal Corporation of Vijayawada (VMC) is adopting Oracle Financials software to offer integrated services to citizens, according to Mr Natarajan Gulzar, Municipal Commissioner. He told newspersons on Friday that it would not entail any major expenditure. The computerised data in different wings would be integrated under the new platform. It would facilitate efficient tax collection and dissemination of information about various works in progress. The Hyderabad-based Centre for Good Governance would assist in the adoption of the software, which is currently being used only by Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
