Hoax bomb scare at Mumbai rly station

Our Bureau

Mumbai, July 15

A bomb scare at the Vile Parle railway station on Saturday afternoon created confusion and panic among commuters and affected the train services on the Western line for one hour.

According to police control, it received an anonymous call at 3.15 pm in the afternoon saying that a bomb had been planted at Vile Parle station.

Bomb squads of Mumbai police searched the station, but no suspicious matter was found, it was a hoax call, said the police.

Bandra and Andheri stations were cordoned and the passengers evacuated.

With the memories of Tuesday's blast still fresh in the minds of people, this hoax call created a minor panic among passengers. Some Western line passengers switched to the Harbour line for safety.
