Iodised salt through PDS

Hyderabad, July 18

The Andhra Pradesh Government is planning to bring out a law to punish the manufacturers and traders of non-iodised salt. Announcing this here on Monday, Mr Banwarlal, Commissioner of Civil Supplies, said people should feel it a social responsibility to use iodised salt. He said the Department has decided to distribute iodised salt through PDS (public distribution) outlets soon. "We are making arrangements in this regard," he said.
