Medi-claim policies

According to news reports nationalised general insurance companies are showing reluctance to renew and also issue new medi-claim policies to senior citizens.

The company or its agents do not send renewal notices or send reminders when policies are about to expire.

The companies also require senior citizens to undergo multiple medical tests and investigations before they are issued new policies. Is this fair?

Are senior citizens not eligible for benefits of medi-claim?

Who will foot their medical bills?

Government should now come put with a firm statement and direction to insurance companies not to enforce their new policy.

Senior citizens expect and should receive support from the government.
