Kewal Kiran Clothing net at Rs 4.5 cr

Branded apparel manufacturer, Kewal Kiran Clothing Ltd (KKCL), has reported a net profit of Rs 4.57 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006. Sales were at Rs 29.3 crore. Figures for the corresponding quarter of the previous year were not available since the company was listed on the stock exchange only in April 2006. Profit margins stood at 15.58 per cent for the quarter. The company has opened 8 K-Lounge stores during the quarter, as part of its retail expansion plans. With this, the tally of operational stores for KKCL now stands at 39. Civil work for expansion of the company's unit in Daman has almost been completed and the necessary equipment is being purchased. Shares of KKCL rose by 2.95 per cent on BSE to close at Rs 172.85.
