JK Lakshmi Cement net profit rises

JK Lakshmi Cement reported a net profit of Rs 38.85 crore for the first quarter ending June 30, against a net profit of Rs 11.89 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. The sales during the first quarter jumped 44 per cent to Rs 218 crore (Rs 151 crore). The second phase of augmenting the production capacity of the company's Sirohi (Rajasthan) plant would be completed by December taking the annual production to 35 lakh tonnes, said Mr Shailendra Chouksey, Director, JK Lakshmi Cement.

The company is also in the process of commissioning a 36-MW captive power plant at Sirohi, which is expected to be completed by April next year, said Mr Chouksey.
