Public Sector Banks States - Tamil Nadu Canara Bank upgrades Tiruchi office Our Bureau
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Prabha said the new office would have jurisdiction over the districts of Tiruchi, Karur, Namakkal, Perambalur, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Pudukottai and Dindigul, along with Karaikal in the Union Territory of Pondicherry. It will cover 119 branches. The aggregate deposit of this newly formed circle was Rs 1,766 crore as at June 2006 against the targeted level Rs 2,027 crore for March 2007. The circle will have a total clientele base of 7.42 lakh deposit clientele 5.91 lakh and credit clientele 1.51 lakh. A total of 24 ATMs were under operation in the newly formed circle. It has been proposed to open new branches at Chidambaram in Cuddalore district and Periyamilaguparai in Tiruchi city before the end of this financial year. About 25 branches will be brought under core banking solutions before this year-end. The Deputy General Manager, Tiruchi Circle, Mr S. Nagarajan also spoke.
