Oilseeds & Edible Oil Industry & Economy - Exports & Imports Oilmeal exports slip in July Our Bureau
According to the Solvent Extractors Association of India, oilmeal exports during April-July was up 12 per cent at 10.55 lt. Soyameal has been the main force behind the rise in exports. Its shipment from the country during the period increased to 6.85 lt from 5.07 lt. Exports to China increased to 2.04 lt from 88,000 tonnes during the period, with shipments of soyameal being 78,875 tonnes, rapeseedmeal 85,975 tonnes and groundnutmeal 39,200 tonnes. Vietnam, on the other hand, was the largest importer of Indian soyameal, buying 2.1 lt, while South Korea has emerged as a big market for rapseeedmeal buying nearly one lt.
