Onward Tech unveils CAE simulation centre

The Pune-based Onward Technologies Ltd has unveiled a computer aided engineering (CAE) simulation and analysis centre.

Mr Harish Mehta, Chairman and Managing Director, Onward Technologies, told presspersons said that the centre involved an investment of Rs 1 crore.

New server

The high-end 12 CPU (central processing unit) Altix 350 SGI server was inaugurated at the facility recently. He noted that with the installation of the CPU Altix 350 SGI server and various dual CPU workstations, it has created one of few multi-CPU environments in the country for high speed processing ofCAE activities such as analysis, static and dynamic simulations, CFD, crash test analysis etc.

The machine comes with a 1.5GHzw/4MB L3 cache Itanium processor with a 36 GB RAM, 500 GB internal storage and 2.8 TB of external storage in RAID. The company had concluded the last fiscal with a turnover of Rs 66.8 crore. He said it was also targeting a headcount of 1,000 within the same period.
