Air Cargo AI, Cargojet enter strategic ties
Air India and Canada's Cargojet have entered into strategic marketing and operational alliance for transportation of air cargo to and from the Canadian market. The alliance, which came into force this month, is expected to boost movement of air cargo between Canada and India, it is felt. Through this alliance, Air India hopes to access the air cargo markets of Western and Atlantic Canada as Cargojet has strong presence in a number of locations running coast-to-coast network in Canada. All cargoes originating from Western and Atlantic Canada for Air India cargo will be connected to Cargojet's premium domestic overnight flights. In turn, Cargojet too hopes to receive cargo sales, marketing and interline support from Air India serving a large number of destinations all over the world. Air India operates five direct flights a week from New Delhi to Toronto via Birmingham and Amritsar. Both carriers' customers will now receive seamless air cargo service from anywhere in the world to all destinations into and out of Canada.
