Seminar on heart and health on Aug 19

In the backdrop of alarming growth of cardiovascular disease in the country, the Success Unlimited Research Foundation is organising a seminar on heart and health for non-medicos on August 19 at Hotel Wood Bridge at Lakdi Ka Pool here.

According to one of the senior facilitators, Dr A.G.K. Gokhale, a well-known cardiac surgeon and the first to have successfully carried out heart transplant operation in Andhra Pradesh, the seminar was aimed at educating the public at large in understanding their bodies and heart and address the issues that lead to increased stress levels.

The three-hour programme is aimed at enabling the participants learn tips to effectively manage their stress levels, the key cause for growing cardiovascular problems in the society. Stating that prevention is always better than cure, Dr Gokhale said the round belly syndrome or the syndrome-X, which is predominant in the subcontinent, is another key cause for increasing incidents of heart problems even at teenage.
