Shipping Hamburg co plans to up tonnage on India route Our Bureau
Kolkata , Aug. 17 Hamburg-based Rickmers-Linie, specialist in sea transportation of break-bulk, heavy lift and project cargoes, proposes to increase tonnage on West Asia and India route, according to shipping industry sources. This is being done by entering into long-term chartering agreement with Samudera Shipping, Jakarta, Indonesia. According to the arrangement, Rickmers will charter from Samudera two multipurpose vessels, "Ardhianto" (9100 dwt, 1999 built) and " Sinar Kudus" (8900 dwt, 1994), both having box-shaped holds, tweendecks and cranes. They will be delivered to Rickmers in north Europe on completion of their west-bound voyage from Asia for Samudera. Rickmers will load the vessels for eastbound voyages to West Asia and India, redelivering them to Samudera after completing discharge at Indian ports, either Kandla, Mumbai or Chennai. Samudera will re-load the ships at South East Asian ports.
