MR S.D. DIKSHIT, Director (Marketing & Sales), KSB Pumps, in Chennai on Thursday. — Bijoy Ghosh

Chennai , Aug. 17

KSB Pumps has launched an openwell submersible pumpset - Monosub R. The product will be available from September through the company's distribution chain, said Mr P.S Joshi, General Manager, Marketing.

Features

The pump comes in 13 models with power varying between 0.5 HP and 10 HP - four models of single-phase driven pumps and nine models of three-phase driven pumps. The product price ranges between Rs 5,500 and Rs 20,000 depending on the power required.

Monosub-R does not require a foot valve or priming, a press release said.

It provides uninterrupted water supply even under fluctuating water levels. As the pump is submerged in water, no separate space needs to be created for housing it. The product is also rust proof and contains fully insulated wiring, said Mr Joshi.

The pump can be used for agricultural, domestic and industrial applications.

Different kinds

KSB pumps also manufactures process pumps, boiler feed pumps, sewage pumps, sea valves besides submersible pumps. Revenues from pumps in 2005-06 were about Rs 1 crore and the company expects a quantum jump in revenues through sales from Monosub-R. Mr Joshi said South India and Maharashtra were the main markets for Monosub-R.

KSB Pumps is part of € 1.3 billion German company KSB and has six manufacturing units in India and over 500 dealers and service centres.
