Railways States - Other States Delhi Metro awards Phase II consultancy contract Our Bureau
New Delhi , Aug. 21 Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Monday awarded the contract for general consultancy for Phase II construction to a consortium of five companies comprising Pacific Consultants International (PCI), Parsons Brinckerhoff International, Japan Railway Technical Services, TONICHI Engineering Consultant and RITES Ltd. These companies had earlier provided consultancy for Phase I of the Delhi Metro Project as well, said an official release. The consultants will help DMRC in project planning, programming, monitoring and quality assurance especially in underground construction, signalling, telecommunication, track, ventilation, air conditioning, rolling stock and safety, health, environment, among others. The agreement was signed by Mr C.B.K. Rao, Director (Project & Planning), DMRC, and Mr Masayoshi Taga, Executive Managing Director, PCI, in the presence of Dr E. Sreedharan, Managing Director, DMRC. Dr Sreedharan pointed out that Phase II would be more challenging than Phase I as about 76 km of Metro track has to be constructed in about four years.
