Re flat against $

Our Bureau

Mumbai, Sept 1

The rupee was almost flat against the dollar on Friday. "There was hardly any movement in the market. The market is awaiting the non-farm payroll data which will bring direction to the rupee against the dollar," said a dealer at a private bank.

The home currency opened at 46.54, moved in the range of 46.52-54 and ended 46.52/53. On Thursday, the rupee closed at 46.53/54. "There was no volatility in the prices today. Oil companies were also not seen in the market," the dealer said.

In forwards, the six-month premium ended at 1.42 per cent (1.42 per cent) and the 12-month premium at 1.38 per cent (1.38 per cent).
