THE RBI GOVERNOR, Dr Y.V. Reddy, on his way to meet the Finance Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, at North Block in the Capital on Tuesday. — Kamal Narang

New Delhi , Sept. 5

The Reserve Bank of India Governor, Dr Y.V. Reddy, on Tuesday called on the Finance Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, at North Block in the backdrop of policy dissonance on Participatory Notes (PNs) between the Government and the RBI appointed committees.

Emerging out of the 45-minute-long meeting, Dr Reddy told presspersons that it was a "routine meeting".

He declined to make any further comment.

Indications are that the Tarapore Committee's report on full capital account convertibility figured prominently in the discussions.
