Kerala's crisis

This is with reference to "Kerala's fiscal crisis" (Business Line, September 4): There is a need to examine and cut wasteful expenditure. The main problem is securing sufficient revenue. This needs to be tackled on a short- and long-term basis. Evasion of tax in registering land deals, flats, etc., should be addressed urgently. Though Kerala may be No 1 in several areas, it is a laggard when it comes to attracting investment.
