Brigade in pact with Banyan Tree Hotels

The Brigade Group today announced a tie-up with Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts, a leading Asian hospitality group, for managing its two resorts and a spa proposed to be developed at Chikmagalur.

The two properties planned to be located in the coffee estates on the slopes of the western Ghats would be branded as Banyan Tree and Angsana respectively.

The 33-acre hill resort and spa are the most recent in the Brigade Group's ventures in the hospitality sector.

The properties are situated 12 km away from Chikmagalur town and is being designed with a focus on eco-tourism.

The Banyan Tree Resort and Spa would be positioned as India's destination spa resort, and will be in the super luxury category, with about 50 villas.

Angsana Resort and Spa will have approximately 70 luxury suites. Both resorts are expected to be opened in 2008.

A multi-domain organisation operating in property development, property management services, hospitality and education, the Brigade Group's recently created Brigade Hospitality Services Pvt Ltd expanded its activities to the management of serviced apartments and corporate residences, senior citizens' residences, as well as clubs, and most recently resorts and spas. The group is also building a 250-room five-star hotel at Brigade Gateway, being set up in partnership with an international hotel chain.

Brigade Homestead, the serviced apartment division, will be adding 200 more serviced apartments and corporate residences to its portfolio.

The Banyan Tree Group manages and has ownership interests in 18 resorts and hotels, 49 spas, 53 retail galleries and two golf courses in the Asia-Pacific region.
