Hyderabad, Sept. 11

The Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Ltd (APTransco) has decided to buy 350 MW of power through Power Trading Company (PTC) at Rs 5 a unit. The decision followed a shortfall due to the tripping 500-MW unit at Simhadri power station. Besides, the corporation also stepped up generation at Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar stations to make up for a total loss of 1,930 MW.

A press release said the Simhadri unit II and the Talcher unit-6 would be back into service by Monday, improving the power situation in the State to some extent.
