New technology Crystal will have features that are unheard of in the scooter industry To introduce `Blaze' (scooter) in the last quarter of the fiscal year 2006-07 DTSi is a Bajaj patented technology
Mumbai , Sept. 12 For the first time, Bajaj Auto is to introduce its DTSi (Digital Twin spark-ignition) technology for its forthcoming scooters. The company plans to introduce the `Crystal', a 100-cc scooter with the same technology. The product launch has been delayed; it was to be launched in September and is now likely to be introduced by November-end. Certain quality checks prior to the launch of the vehicle were mandatory and that has taken some time, said Mr S. Sridhar, Vice-President, Bajaj Auto. The scooters will be manufactured at the Akurdi plant in Pune. Besides the DTSi technology, the new scooter will have features like front fuelling, which allows one to fill the fuel tank without lifting off from the seat while a glow key ignition switch makes it easy for people to switch on the two-wheeler in the dimmest of light conditions, especially at night. These features are incorporated in the two-wheeler, keeping in mind the prospective buyer i.e. the teenage group. While the company gets geared up for the Crystal launch, it will introduce `Blaze' (scooter) in the last quarter of the fiscal year 2006-07.
