Mumbai , Sept. 14 The Security Equipment Division (SED) of Godrej & Boyce has announced its entry into `high end premises security solutions' segment. The company has entered into a strategic alliance with global majors such as Tescon, Notifier, Adams, Fiscan and Panasonic to introduce hi-tech security systems such as road blockers, tyre killers, crash-rated barriers and explosive and narcotic detectors in the Indian market. The company proposes to invest Rs 50 crore in the next two years. Godrej expects a steady 20 per cent growth to fuel its annual turnover to Rs 200 crore this fiscal. "We have over a period of time developed strong core competence to offer fire, burglary, bullet and blast resistant solutions. Realising the growing needs and changing requirements of our customers, we are coming out with a range of effective and powerful premises and electronic security products," said Mr D.E. Byramjee, Vice-President & Business Head, Godrej - SED. The company exports security gadgets to 25 countries. Godrej-SED will provide solution through its 600 distribution outlets and 20 branches. According to major players, the Rs 650-crore industry is doing well post-Mumbai blasts. Demand for surveillance gadgetries such as CCTV (Close Circuit Television), video monitoring units and central monitoring systems has shot up by nearly 30 per cent following terror strikes. "It is good to have big players in the segment. This will help the sector to grow and mature,"' said Mr Prathim Banerjee, CEO - Security Solution Group, Zicom Electronic Security Systems Ltd.
