Bangalore , Sept. 14

McDonald's India plans to invest Rs 300 crore-400 crore in the next three years to add 100-125 restaurants in the country. Currently, there are 94 restaurants across the country. The South will be an important part of McDonald's plans.

The food chain launched its 94th restaurant (its third in Bangalore)on Thursday. At the launch of the 3,380-sq feet restaurant, Mr Amit Jatia, Managing Director and Joint Venture Partner, McDonald's India (West and South), said: "Initially we intend to focus on Bangalore and Hyderabad and then spread across the region. Our approach will be to open more stores in one city rather than one store in many cities."

Outlets

It will open three outlets in Hyderabad by December and 4-6 outlets in Bangalore next year.

Chennai, into which McDonald's has not yet made inroads, is also on the company's radar. McDonald's in India employs over 4,500 people and in the next three years it hopes to add more than 5,000 people.
