Chennai , Sept. 17

"Cinema is an entertainment industry. Even though this industry is full of tension, I have never thought of running away from here. I am committed to this industry. I have introduced many fresh talents in my films. My gift is to find and tap other's talent. Dedication and hard work is important for coming up in life," said Mr R.B. Chowdary, Director, Super Good Films.

He was addressing students at `Achiever's Conclave' — a forum of young entrepreneurs — organised by the Vael's Institute of Business Administration (VIBA), under the Business Line Club.

Success tips

Mr Promodh Cheruvalath, Founder, Sign of Life Productions, gave tips on how to become a successful entrepreneur. He said that interest in the chosen line of work, self-confidence, perseverance, hard work, integrity, honesty and commitment are a must.

He added that running a business is not a bed of roses rather it is a bed of thorns and they should be prepared to face all kinds of struggles and problems

On the requirements to become a technology entrepreneur, Mr Mahesh Dyaram, Director and Chief Technology Officer, NEXGE Technologies, said a clear vision and a tremendous amount of drive to be the best in the chosen field is needed. Applying technology to solve human/business problems should be the focus for any technology entrepreneur, he added.

Adapting well

The ability to see these inter-linkages and bank on them determines the direction of the entrepreneurial venture. Also, a knack to adapt to the changing market scenarios with the determination to succeed even in the face of adversity with a never-say-die attitude are some of the factors behind success, he pointed out.

Personal courage to pursue the interest, quest for excellence in the chosen field, unwavering belief in one's own abilities, an ability to see and pursue an opportunity that others have not noticed, persistence and conviction that they will succeed, and a high-level of dedication are the essential characteristics of a successful entrepreneur, said Mr A. D. Padmasingh Issac, Founder Chairman, Aachi Masala.

Ms Preetha, Head of Department, gave the welcome address and also presented programme overview to the nearly 300 students, including 150 from various other B-schools.
