Hyderabad , Sept. 17 With the Telangana issue threatening to pick up momentum once again, the Andhra Pradesh Government seems to be getting ready to make its own efforts to project an all-round development face. In an obvious response to the recent developments triggered by the Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) and certain leaders within the Congress(I) ranks, the State Government has hit upon the strategy to unleash an awareness campaign on the developmental and welfare programmes it has taken up in the past 27 months of its governance.
TELENGANA TOPS
And, expectedly, Telangana region has emerged top on its agenda. It has prepared a comprehensive blueprint on the all round development of the region. Similar, blueprints with regard to development of coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema, would also be prepared soon, according to an official release from the Chief Minister's Office. The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on Sunday interacted with senior officials of his Government to discuss the draft blueprint on the "Development and People's Participation," comprising region-wise details of developmental programmes undertaken since the Cong (I)-led Government came to power in May 2004.
AWARENESS CAMPS
The blueprint would include conducting awareness camps at village level to educate people on the benefits of Government schemes through various tools like exhibitions, media, camps, cassettes etc. The campaigners would be trained, feedback from people procured. Further, funds created to promote partnerships with people and ensure effective functioning of the agencies involved in the campaign, the CMO said. The Chief Minister would launch the awareness campaign between October 7 and 29. Feedback on major programmes like Jalayagnam, Indiramma, Indira Prabha, power supply etc. is already being obtained.
