Infrastructure States - Andhra Pradesh Hi-tech textile park planned near Hyderabad Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Sept. 17 Carrera Holdings, Italy, has set up a textile co-ordination centre (textile service cluster) while Vinci-Picanol of Belgium has extended a helping hand to the Indian textile sector to be better prepared in facing global competition. The textile co-ordination centre in Mumbai would help create the resources and capabilities to build the core competencies needed to develop textile products and services internationally competitive in terms of cost, quality and service with the involvement of Indian textile parks. Both these companies are key participants in the upcoming national seminar on "Indian textiles and the critical issues for her success", being organised by the Hyderabad Hi-Tech Textile Park (HHTP) in collaboration with the Consortium of Indian Textile Parks in Hyderabad on September 18, 2006.
LOCATION
The HHTP is coming up near Cheguru village, about 36 km from Hyderabad in Mahboobnagar district. The Park is also about 16 km from the upcoming Shamshabad International Airport. The Union Ministry of Textiles is providing assistance/grant of Rs 40 crore and State Government Rs 5 crore for development of infrastructure in 150 acres. The estimated total cost of the park is around Rs 415 crore.
Outsourcing centre
The HHTP is also planning an outsourcing centre to take advantage of facilities for its products. It wants to enter into tie-ups for its product marketing in international markets, according to Mr Ghanshyam Sarode, one of the Directors. The park has about 100 entrepreneur members who will set-up 2,000 modern shuttle-less looms with an expected production of 2 lakh metres of cloth per day in the first Phase and another 2 lakh metres in the second phase. The park will have state-of-the-art preparatory for yarn dyeing, doubling, warping and sizing and fabric processing and finishing as common unit. In the first and second phase, the park will provide 5,000 direct and 10,000 indirect employment.
