Rubber Spot rubber prices improve Aravindan
Kottayam , Sept. 18 Supply concerns due to sustained rains kept spot rubber better on Monday. According to informed circles, the market experienced moderate enquires from major consuming sectors coupled with short covering at lower levels. Sheet rubber improved to Rs 83 from Rs 82.50 at Kottayam. But the grade was quoted lower by 50 paise at Rs 82.50 a kg at Kochi. Latex continued to rule weak on import news, while the remaining grades were also firm in tune with the sentiments.
Futures steady
The rubber futures were almost in a steady mood on NMCE. As Japanese markets were on holidays, the domestic scene lacked genuine trading interest. The October contract was quoted at Rs 80.50 (Rs 80.33), November contract at Rs 80 (Rs 79.29) and December contract at Rs 80.10 (Rs 79.99) and January at Rs 81.20 (Rs 81.31) per kg for RSS 4. Physical prices (Rs a kg) were: RSS-4: Rs 83 (Rs 82.50); RSS-5: Rs 80 (Rs 79.50); ungraded: Rs 77.75 (Rs 77); ISNR 20: Rs 79.50 (Rs 78.50) and latex 60 per cent: Rs 63.15 (Rs 64.20).
