Letters Bank charges
This is with reference to "Banks face charges" (Business Line, September 18): The editorial rightly impressed the need for transparency. Charges should be in consonance with the service rendered. The service charges continue to rise. To cite one example, for remitting an insurance premium to a local branch it was said that there would be no charge if standing instructions were given. But only when entries are made in the passbook do we realise the charges. A. Jacob Sahayam Thiruvananthapuram
