Chennai , Sept. 21

US furniture major Herman Miller sees India and China as the markets with the most potential in the next 10 years, according to Mr Paul Iles, International Marketing Distribution Director, Herman Miller.

The company's manufacturing facilities are in the US, the UK, Korea and Singapore with one more coming up in China by February 2007.

The company distributes in India through dealers and distributors.

The boom in IT and ITES has created a demand for high-end seating solutions, said Mr S. Ravi, Director, Buildcraft Interior Pvt Ltd (dealer for Herman Miller).

Herman Miller has six major chair lines and an equal number of furniture lines. Mr Iles said all products of Herman Miller have a design story to support their evolution. Typically a design would take about seven years to complete. He said that the aluminium used in the chairs is from old tin cans and the plastic is from old milk bottles.
