Budget hotel branch in Kerala

Roots Corporation Ltd, a subsidiary of The Indian Hotels Company Ltd, has launched its `Ginger' budget hotel brand in the city.

The hotel, which was inaugurated today, is located near the Technopark Thiruvananthapuram. It is the first Ginger hotel in Kerala and the fifth in the country.

4 IN OFFING

By March 2007, the company will add four more Ginger hotels said Mr Prabhat Pani, Chief Executive Officer, Roots Corporation Ltd.

These hotels will come up in Pune, Durgapur, Nashik and Pondicherry.

Also on the cards are hotels in other cities including Goa, Agartala, Tirupur, Varanasi, Baroda and Ahmedabad.

LOCATIONS IN KERALA

In Kerala, the company is considering a hotel in Kochi, he said. It is also exploring the possibilities in other towns such as Kozhikode, Kottayam, Palakkad and Guruvayoor, he added.

The hotel in Thiruvananthapuram has 101 rooms priced at Rs 999 for a single room and Rs 1,199 for a double.

Facilities at the hotel include a restaurant, automatic check-in kiosk, cyber café, gym, wi-fi connectivity in all rooms and public areas and so on.
