Chennai, Sept.29
Analytica-Anacon will organise a three-day trade fair showcasing instruments for analysis in laboratory technology, testing and quality control, diagnostics and biotechnology starting November 16 at Bangalore. Along with the trade fair, technical symposia on chromatography, mass spectrometry and spectroscopy will be conducted, said Mr G. Thyagarajan, Representative, Indian Analytical Instruments Association. Instrument designers and manufacturers (not scientists) would speak at the symposia. This will help end-users understand how best the instruments can be used. "We have avoided scientists because they tend of talk of technology and research and do not focus on instruments," he said.
The global analytics market is worth about $32 billion of which the Indian market is worth about $1 billion, said Mr Thyagarajan. "The growth of analytical instruments in India will be fuelled by demand in areas such as bio-informatics, diagnostics and pharmaceuticals." Analytica-Anacon is part of the international trade fair organising network Analytica-World.
